In July I will be travelling to Tanzania to climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world – Kilimanjaro. Not only is this a great personal challenge, I am proud to be climbing in aid of Clic Sargent and collecting as much sponsorship as possible. This is what will keep me going at altitude of over 19,000ft, trekking for approximately 15 hours on summit day.
Clic Sargent are hugely deserving, supporting children and young people with cancer, up to the age of 24. For families affected by cancer, I cannot imagine how much their emotional, practical and financial support would mean. Raising both funds and awareness for Clic Sargent is a brilliant focus and I look forward to reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak with this in mind.
In April 2014 I completed my first charity trek in the Himalayas of Nepal and since then I have been itching to go on another worthwhile adventure. With the support of Spider I am getting ready to head off to Africa on 7th July, training hard and preparing to test my endurance and nerves!
It’s important to know that every penny of sponsorship will go directly to Clic Sargent as the trip is self-funded. Your support would mean a great deal… Sponsor me here!
I’ll write again soon to keep you up to date with my training all things Kili so keep an eye out for my updates!
