Suffolk based Managing Director (and Chief Spider), Michelle Pollard has been selected as a finalist for the East of England Institute of Directors, Director of the Year Awards in the SME category. The awards recognise excellence among business leaders, with the winners being selected at The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket on 15th June, before being considered for the national finals in London later this year.

Managing Director at Spider. Fixed Fee Web Recruitment, Michelle could be described to have needed 8 legs to achieve such great success across Suffolk as the region’s ONLY fixed fee web recruitment company, delivering a disruptive, innovative and dynamic approach to online job advertising. Spider helps local businesses to recruit quality employees at a transparent, flat-rate fee.

After setting the business up from her kitchen table with just a £5k credit card, to now changing the way businesses recruit in the East of England, Michelle is ‘thrilled’ to have been selected as a finalist for such a prestigious award.

Michelle says, “Running a small business and starting it from scratch can be an incredibly rewarding yet lonely place. To win such a prestigious award would not only give Spider the recognition that it deserves, but would be a massive compliment to my team who have helped me grow and develop the business to where we are now! I believe that my team and our business is exceptional.”

When she isn’t crawling across East Anglia with Spider’s unique offering, Michelle is Vice Chair of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in Greater Ipswich, a Board Member of Suffolk Business Women and Vice Chair of Suffolk Skills Show.
