Facebook, the Book of Face…whatever you call it it’s not just a place for Mary down the road to tell you what she is having for dinner, or for Dave to brag about his week in the sun! This social media phenomenon has grown into a platform of many uses such as connecting with old friends, selling unwanted goods, and advertising products. It has been fundamental in growing businesses large and small at no extra cost, as well as it being utilised to advertise jobs at the click of a button – until now!
That’s right; promoted Job Postings on Facebook is no more. Well not quite, but it’s certainly going to be a little more difficult to get the candidates you want applying for those precious roles since the Meta rebrand. So, if you want to know how to continue to advertise your role and maximize your candidate attraction via this popular social media method? Then read on.
Well firstly, you just call Spider, the Regions Online Job Advertisers on 01473 21… 😉
Ok we’ll hold off on the sales pitch for the time being! Job adverts are now only able to be posted on a relevant Facebook business page. If you have enough followers and likes you may get lucky and attract your next superstar. Your likers, followers, family, and friends can share the advert to enable potential new hires to flock to your new role so benefitting from the beloved Facebook reach is still possible but definitely not as easy.
As an example, here at Spider we use our established Business page (if you haven’t yet “liked” it perhaps now is the time – https://www.facebook.com/SpiderRecruit1) to advertise our clients’ available vacancies. Due to our large following we help to get their vacancies viewed. We include a little introduction to the role and key information that we know will entice people to take a look. This may be highlighting remote working or some fabulous benefits. This is then linked to the role on our website, or we provide contact details if required. Using this method also enables us to monitor post engagement, so we know exactly how many views it has had, and we can change / shake things up if we need too!
Remember good candidates are hard to find so sell your benefits, sell your culture and promote why your business is such a great place to work. We also rely heavily on some of the fabulous Facebook Job Groups like “Jobs In Suffolk” https://www.facebook.com/groups/1792269511006401 where you are still able to post your jobs completely free of charge so this is definitely worth a look too!
Currently across all industries recruiting is tough, as companies compete to secure the best candidates. Therefore, it is as important as ever to optimise all opportunities and use tools effectively to attract those looking for their next career move!
(This is where we do our sales pitch) If your organisation is hiring contact the Spider team. We advertise your role using the most successful job boards as well as social media platforms and would love to help you find your next dream hire with our award winning advertising campaigns.
Call on 01473 276146 and we would be happy to talk to you about how we can support your business! The Book of Face may not be your first call anymore but Spider should be.
